| There are two kinds of CattleTrax users,
administrative and producer. The administrative user can add a new
producer to the system, order additional EID tags, and view enrolled
producers in the database. The producer user can print chute-side
data entry forms, enter data, and view his data. Administrative
users can only be added to the system by the CattleTrax Database
Administrator.
Click on the task name below for a detailed description of the
steps needed to perform a specific task.

- Step 1 - Log on to CattleTrax using an Administrative
ID and Password. If you don't have an administrative
ID and password contact the CattleTrax Database Administrator.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Administrative Main
Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Administrative Main Menu
choose Add New Producer. You are taken to the Producer
Registration screen.
- Step 4 - Enter the necessary information and follow the
steps outlined on this screen.
- Step 5 - When you press the Submit Tag Order and
Register Producer button a confirmation screen will display
so you can verify the tag order, producer profile, password
information, and tag shipping information.
- Step 6 - If everything is correct press the Order
button and the producer user will be added to the system
and a tag order will be sent to the EID manufacturer of choice.
If something is incorrect, press the browser Back button
and correct the mistake and then press the Submit Tag Order
and Register Producer button. Confirm the information and
then press the Order button and the producer user
will be added to the system and a tag order will be sent to the
EID manufacturer of choice. The system will automatically
generate the user id and then display a screen that lists the
user name, id, password, and tag order. Copy this information
down or print out this screen and store in a safe location.
- Step 1 - Log on to CattleTrax using an Administrative
ID and Password. If you don't have an administrative
ID and password contact the CattleTrax Database Administrator.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Administrative Main
Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Administrative Main Menu
choose Order More EID Tags. You are taken to the Order
Additional tags screen.
- Step 4 - Enter the necessary information and follow the
steps outlined on this screen.
- Step 5 - When you press the Submit Tag Order
button a confirmation screen will display so you can verify the
tag order, producer name, and tag shipping information.
- Step 6 - If everything is correct press the Order
button and the tag order will be sent to the EID
manufacturer of choice. If something is incorrect, press the
browser Back button and correct the mistake and then
press the Submit Tag Order button. Confirm the
information and then press the Order button and a tag
order will be sent to the EID manufacturer of choice. The system
will then display a screen that lists the user name and tag
order. Print out this screen for your records.
- Step 1 - Log on to CattleTrax using an Administrative

ID and password contact the CattleTrax Database Administrator.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Administrative Main
Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Administrative Main Menu
choose View Enrolled Producers. You will then be taken to
a screen view of the producers you have enrolled in the system.
If you have no enrolled then the system will show a screen that
indicates no producers have been enrolled by you.

User Profile - Administrative ID |
- Step 1 - Logon to CattleTrax using a Administrative
ID and Password. If you don't have an administrative
ID and password contact the CattleTrax Database Administrator.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Administrative Main
Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Administrative Main Menu
choose Update User Profile. You are taken to the Update
Your Account screen.
- Step 4 - Change any data necessary and press the Update
Your Account button. Your updated user profile should be entered
into the database.
Note: An administrator can only update his user profile.
To update a producer profile you must login with a producer ID.

Chute-side Data Entry Forms |
- Step 1 - Logon to CattleTrax using a Producer User
ID and Password. If you don't have a producer user ID
and password see Add a Producer User above.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Print Chute-side Data Entry Form. You are taken to the Print
Chute-side Data Forms screen.
- Step 4 - You can print out data entry forms by EID Lot
# or by Visual ID. Choose either Print Chute-side Forms By
EID Lot # or Print Chute-side Forms By Visual ID by
pressing the appropriate button. You will be taken to the
appropriate screen.
- Step 5 - From the Print Chute-side Forms By EID Lot
# screen select the correct EID Lot # or from the Print
Chute-side Forms By Visual ID screen choose the Visual ID
numbers you want to print from the list and press the Print
Form button. You will be taken to Select the Data Form to
Print screen to select the type of data form to print.
Note: You can only choose one EID Lot # (25 tags) but
you can select up to 25 Visual IDs (use SHIFT-CLICK and/or CTRL-CLICK
to select multiple IDs) to print on one form.
- Step 6 - At the Select the Data Form to Print
screen you have a number of choices including:
- Standard1 (Dam ID, Sire ID, Milestone, Treatment)
- Standard2
(Dam ID, Sire ID, Milestone, Procedure, Treatment)
- Foundation (Dam ID, Sire ID, Group, DOB, Tattoo,
Tattoo Location, P/H/S)
- Birth
(Dam ID, Sire ID, Calving Ease, Treatment)
- Weaning (Dam ID, Group, Tattoo, Treatment)
- Physical Characteristics
(Tattoo, Pelvic Area, Frame Score, Condition Score)
- Health
(Group, Temperature, Treatment)
Select the one of your choice and press the Submit
button. Note: All forms contain the fields: EID, Visual ID,
Breed, Sex, Date, and Weight.
- Step 7 - Your form should display on the screen. Be
sure to have your printer online and set to landscape mode and
then press the browser's Print button. Your form should
print out. If it didn't print out correctly then check your
printer settings and confirm that it is set to landscape mode
and online.

Data into CattleTrax |
- Step 1 - Logon to CattleTrax using a Producer User

- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select one of the data entry choices: Add/Edit
Herd Records, Add Health Records, Add Breeding
Records, Add Carcass Records, or Transfer Animals
to New Owner and you will be taken to the appropriate data
entry screen.
- Step 5 - Enter the appropriate data and press the add
data button. Your data should be entered into the database.
Information for any additional data entry or other cattle can
be entered in a similar fashion. See the Data
Entry Tutorial for a hands-on example of entering data into
CattleTrax.
- Step 1 - Logon to CattleTrax using a Producer User
ID and Password. If you don't have a user ID and
password see Add a Producer User above.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
View Data. You are taken to the Database View Menu screen.
- Step 4 - At the Database View Menu screen select
one of the view menu choices: View Herd Records, View
Herd Averages, Find The Owner of EID, Find Animal,
View Health Records, View Breeding Records, View
Carcass records, View Sale Records, or View
Transfer Information. You will then be taken to a screen
view of the appropriate data.
Note: A Producer can only view data for which he has
prior rights to view. This would be data that he has entered into
the system or other data that he has been given the right to view.

- Step 1 - Logon to CattleTrax using a Producer User

password see Add a Producer User above.
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Update User Profile. You are taken to the Update Your
Account screen.
- Step 4 - Change any data necessary and press the Update
Your Account button. Your updated user profile should be entered
into the database.
