Note: An animal must be in inventory before you can
enter health, breeding, carcass, or transfer data on it.
Therefore, the first step to data entry for a given animal is to
enter or confirm that the animal is in the herd inventory. The
minimum data needed to enter an animal into inventory is EID and
Visual ID.
| Entering
Herd Records into CattleTrax |
- Step 1 - If not already logged on to CattleTrax then
logon using the following ID and password:
Producer User ID: 999999
Password: demo
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select the data entry choice: Add/Edit Herd
Records and you will be taken to the Select Lot/Group
screen. Enter Select All for the lot and group to view
and then you will be taken to the Herd Records Data Entry
screen.
- Step 5 - Pick EID DEMOEID001 from the drop-down
scroll box and enter the data as given below:

- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select the data entry choice: Add Health
Records and you will be taken to the Health Records Data
Entry screen.
- Step 5 - Pick Visual ID J407B from the scroll
box and enter the data as given below: (Note: J407B must already
be in inventory, If you have not done this previously then
follow the directions in Step 7 of Entering Herd
Records into CattleTrax above.)

Breeding Data into CattleTrax |
- Step 1 - If not already logged on to CattleTrax then
logon using the following ID and password:

- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select the data entry choice: Add Breeding
Records and you will be taken to the Breeding Records
Data Entry screen.
- Step 5 - Pick Visual ID J407 from the drop-down
scroll box (This is the dam visual id.) and enter the data as
given below: (Note: J407 must already be in inventory, If you
have not done this previously then follow the directions in Steps
1 - 6 of Entering Herd Records into CattleTrax
above.)

Note: The only information needed for the service sire
is visual id. The sire does not have to be in inventory as it can
be from another herd so may not have an EID.
- Step 6 - Press the Add Breeding Data button.
Your data will be entered into the database.

Sire Data into CattleTrax |
Use this procedure to enter sire information on sires in your
herd. Sires from outside herds are not considered part of your
inventory. The only information that is stored on them is the
visual id when entering breeding data. See Entering Breeding
Data into CattleTrax above.
- Step 1 - If not already logged on to CattleTrax then
logon using the following ID and password:
Producer User ID: 999999
Password: demo
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select the data entry choice: Add/Edit Herd
Records and you will be taken to the Herd Records Data
Entry screen.
- Step 5 - Pick EID DEMOEID002 from the drop-down

- Step 1 - If not already logged on to CattleTrax then
logon using the following ID and password:

button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Enter Data. You are taken to the Data Entry Main Menu
screen.
- Step 4 - Select the data entry choice: Add Carcass
Records and you will be taken to the Carcass Record Data
Entry screen.
- Step 5 - Pick Visual ID J407B from the drop-down
scroll box and enter the data as given below: (Note: J407B must
already be in inventory, If you have not done this previously
then follow the directions in Step 8 of Entering
Inventory Data into CattleTrax above.)

- Step 6 - Press the Add Carcass Data button. Your
data will be entered into the database.
| Transfer
Animals to New Owner in CattleTrax |
- Step 1 - If not already logged on to CattleTrax then
logon using the following ID and password:
Producer User ID: 999999
Password: demo
- Step 2 - When you press the Login to CattleTrax
button you are taken directly to the Producer Main Menu.
- Step 3 - At the Producer Main Menu choose
Transfer Animal to New Owner. You are taken to the Transfer
Animals to New Owner screen.
- Step 4 - Select the YES to indicate that the new owner
has an account with CattleTrax and you will be taken to the Transfer
Animals to Existing Owner screen.
- Step 5 - Enter 999999 for the Owner ID and press
continue. Select J407B as the animal to transfer and
press Transfer Ownership of Selected Animals button to
transfer ownership. You will get a confirmation message and then
you can return to the main menu.
(Note: J407B must already be in inventory. If you have not done
this previously then follow the directions in Entering Herd
Records into CattleTrax above.)
